Isolation / Gas Retention

Isolation Dampers also known as Gas Retention Dampers, are specifically designed to contain fireextinguishing gases—such as CO₂, FM-200, and other clean agents—within ventilation or air-conditioning systems during a fire event. Similar in construction to volume control dampers, these units feature enhanced blade and frame seals to deliver low-leakage performance, supporting compliance with critical safety standards such as NFPA 12. When actuated—via electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic controls—these dampers close securely to retain suppression gases deployed to displace oxygen and extinguish flames. By preventing leakage, Isolation Dampers help ensure system effectiveness, assist coordinated building response systems (e.g., alarms and sprinklers), and support fire authorities in ensuring safe evacuation and damage mitigation.
Ideal for use in enclosed environments such as engine rooms, generator enclosures, battery storage spaces, and control rooms at industrial and offshore facilities, these dampers are essential for life safety, asset protection, and system integrity in high-risk, mission-critical operations. AWV Isolation Dampers are built for durability, precision, and performance—delivering trusted reliability where containment matters most.
