Backdraft / Shutters

Backdraft / Shutters

Backdraft / Shutter Dampers are designed to allow airflow in one direction and automatically prevent reverse flow when the system is off or when pressure conditions change. These gravity-operated dampers open with airflow and close when airflow stops, helping to protect HVAC systems from drafts, wind-driven rain, and unwanted air infiltration. Commonly used in exhaust and intake applications, they are ideal for systems that do not require motorized control.

Pressure Relief Dampers function similarly to backdraft dampers but include an adjustable start-to-open pressure setting. They are engineered to automatically relieve excess pressure in a system while maintaining a sealed environment under normal conditions. These dampers are ideal for protecting equipment and ductwork by controlling over-pressurization in supply or return air systems, clean rooms, or pressurized enclosures.
